PAST EVENTS

Rome to Assisi Pilgrimage  March 1, 2018- March 5, 2018.  Kingdom Mission Society held a two day pilgrimage in Assisi.

Peacemaking Series February 19th and 20th 2018 KMS visited the Mount Academy and the Bruderhof Community in Esopsus, New York to discuss Christian approaches to Peacemaking and screen the film The Sultan and the Saint and what lessons St. Francis might have for us today.

Racial Understanding Saturday February 3rd 2018. Supporters from Kingdom Mission Society and Grace and Race Ministries Inc. joined together for a service at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. We were there for a special mass to bless and commemorate markers that will be placed in all five Roman Catholic cemeteries within the Diocese of Washington commemorating the unmarked graves of slaves so buried within the District of Columbia.

Caridnal Wuerl led the service with choir from St. Augustine’s Catholic Church providing music for the liturgy. In all about 17 of us joined several hundred guests as part of this service.

MLK Bridges plans to do a video conversation with the organizers of this special mass and important moment in commemorating living church history.

Peacemaking Seattle Training January 29th 2018. KMS trained over 90 clergy in the Seattle area on how do you frame engagement with other groups. This was a best practices training session.

Reconciled for Mission (June 13 2015)

Sanford, Florida.  Ferguson, Missouri.  Baltimore, Maryland.  Is your heart grieved, angry, or even indifferent to the racial tensions in our communities across America?  Have you ever had even the tiniest, mustard seed hope that you and the church could be a source of racial healing and reconciliation?  The Kingdom Mission Society, a local nonprofit ministry that promotes reconciliation, justice, and renewal in the church, will host a seminar on reconciliation on Saturday, June 13  2015 from 12-5 p.m. at Church of the Ascension in Arlington, VA.
