There is definitely more to Mary than many modern Christians assume. Exploring over 2,000 years of Christian thought, this symposium directs our attention to the mother of our Lord. We begin with the conviction that the life of Mary, as God’s chosen means of the incarnation, is deserving of careful attention and reflection from all followers of Christ. What can Mary teach us about Jesus? About the role of women in the Church? Can the life of Mary serve as a spiritual antidote to the mistreatment and objectification of women in society?
